The province of Santa Elena in Ecuador has been experiencing continuous rainfall for over 12 hours, leading to severe flooding in various sectors. The rain began on Sunday night, and areas such as Brisas del Mar in the José Luis Tamayo parish of Salinas have reported streets filled with water and mud. Local authorities, including Salinas Mayor Dennis Córdova, noted that some areas like Avenida Segunda remained unaffected due to timely measures taken to open drainage gates for water evacuation, yet adjacent streets experienced localized flooding.
