Responded to an accident - met a man in a bathrobe
Police responded to a car accident in Lillestrøm, Norway, involving a driver who appeared intoxicated and was wearing a bathrobe.
A police operation leader from Øst politidistrikt, Rune Isaksen, confirmed to VG that they responded to a car accident in Gansdalen, Lillestrøm kommune, shortly before 4:30 PM on Monday afternoon. Upon their arrival, officers encountered the vehicle's driver, who appeared intoxicated and was surprisingly dressed in a bathrobe.
The incident raised eyebrows, particularly as the driver registered over 2.5 in blood alcohol content while in his bathrobe. The police noted this unusual scenario as part of their report, indicating that the driver was taken to the emergency ward for a blood sample, which is standard procedure in such cases involving suspected intoxication.
This situation highlights the ongoing issue of drunk driving in Norway and raises questions about accountability and behavior related to substance abuse. As police continue to address these incidents, public awareness about the dangers of drinking and driving, regardless of attire, remains critical.
