X down? Users report instability this Monday (16)
Many users worldwide are experiencing difficulties accessing the social network X, both on web and mobile versions, with no official communication from the company regarding the issues.
On Monday, thousands of users of the social network X reported difficulties in accessing the platform globally, affecting both its web and mobile applications. As of 10:33 AM, over 3,600 complaints were logged in Brazil alone on Downdetector, a service that monitors social media outages by compiling status reports from various sources. The issue also extended to the United States, where more than 23,210 users reported problems around the same time.
There has been no official statement from X, the platform owned by Elon Musk, regarding the cause of these disruptions or any timeline for a complete service restoration. This incident marks the second major outage in 2026, with a similar occurrence noted in January, which raised spikes in complaints across monitoring systems. Users have reported seeing blank screens or error messages while attempting to load their feeds, contributing to frustration amongst the platform's community.
The ongoing issues with X add to the growing concerns over the stability of the platform, especially given its significance in social media engagement. The reliance on real-time communication and social media for news and connectivity makes such outages particularly impactful, prompting discussions about the platform's reliability when it is most needed.
