Met Office names where snow will fall this week as 'south' faces flurries

The Met Office has forecast additional snowfall across the UK this week, highlighting specific areas likely to experience flurries before the weekend.

The Met Office has provided a weather forecast indicating that parts of the UK will see more snow this week, following previous snowfalls over the weekend that led to weather warnings across several regions. While many areas were hit with snowfall recently, those warnings have since expired, yet the possibility of more wintry weather looms, especially as the week progresses.

Beginning with cold and frosty conditions, the weather is expected to have dry and sunny spells in many areas; however, the forecast notes that scattered showers could occur, predominantly in northern and eastern regions. The southwest is anticipated to experience cloudier conditions later in the week, which could bring about the possibility of snow, particularly in southern parts of the country as the week closes in on the weekend.

The Met Office has also indicated that while northern regions may remain predominantly dry on Wednesday and Thursday, the southern areas could be susceptible to rain and hill snow. As the temperatures drop at night, the likelihood of encountering wintry showers increases, creating a mixed bag of weather conditions across the UK, influencing travel, outdoor activities, and daily life as the week unfolds.
