Caixa and Banco do Brasil begin to pay PIS/Pasep bonus; see who receives and upcoming dates

Caixa Econômica Federal and Banco do Brasil have commenced payments for the first batch of the PIS/Pasep salary bonus starting from April 16, 2026.

The Caixa Econômica Federal and Banco do Brasil have started distributing the first batch of the PIS/Pasep salary bonus on April 16, 2026. This initiative is based on a calendar approved at the end of 2025. The salary bonus will be directly deposited into the accounts of private sector workers and public servants born in January who meet the eligibility criteria and are customers of Caixa or Banco do Brasil. Other eligible individuals can withdraw the funds from other banks or agencies.

The government has allocated a total of R$ 2.5 billion for this batch, benefiting approximately 1.8 million workers under the Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT) and 217,500 public servants. Starting this year, new regulations will be in effect for accessing the bonus. Each qualified worker can withdraw an amount up to the minimum wage of R$ 1,621 in 2026, based on their eligibility requirements.

To qualify for this bonus, workers must have been registered with PIS/Pasep for at least five years, have worked for at least one month in the base year of 2024, and have an income not exceeding R$ 2,765.93. Additionally, it is essential that employers correctly reported their employees' information to the relevant authorities to avoid any issues during the payout process.
