The social network X, formerly Twitter, suffers an outage in several countries, including Spain and the United States
The social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, experienced significant service outages in several countries, including Spain and the United States, with users reporting issues with both the mobile app and web version.
The social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, has faced a widespread outage affecting users in various countries, primarily Spain, the United States, and Colombia. Reports began around 14:15 (CET) with unidentified causes leading to service disruption. Users have expressed their frustrations through Downdetector, a site that tracks service outages, highlighting a collective struggle to access and refresh the platform.
As the outage progressed, Downdetector recorded nearly 4,000 complaints from Spanish users and over 40,000 from U.S. customers, reflecting the scale of the issue. When attempting to access the network, users received messages indicating that posts were not loading, and the platform prompted them to try reloading again, often without any success. This situation points towards a potential technical failure, although exact details remain unclear.
Currently, X has not issued any statements regarding the technical difficulties being faced, and it remains uncertain when service will be restored to normal. The incident not only highlights the platform's vulnerability to technical issues but also raises questions about user reliance on social media for communication and information dissemination, especially during outages that affect large user bases across multiple countries.
