Israeli Forces Penetrate Quneitra Countryside and Arrest Two Young Men

Israeli military incursions continue in the Quneitra region of Syria, resulting in the arrest of two young men and daily violations of Syrian sovereignty.

Israeli forces have intensified their military operations in southern Syria, particularly in the Quneitra region, with reports of two young men being arrested by occupying troops. According to the Syrian state news agency "SANA", the Israeli army conducted a raid in the village of Ghadir al-Bustan where they arrested the two siblings and reportedly damaged local property during the operation. This incident is part of a broader pattern of increasing Israeli incursions into Syrian territory,

Just the day before this arrest, four other young men were taken into custody by Israeli forces—three from the village of Breika while herding cattle, who were subsequently released, and another from the town of Jabata al-Khashab. Such incidents highlight the ongoing tension in the region, exacerbated by Israel's stated abandonment of the 1974 disengagement agreement with Syria following the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime, which pushes the narrative of impunity for Israeli actions in the area.

As these incidences of violation of Syrian sovereignty become almost routine, they raise significant concerns regarding the ongoing conflict dynamics in the region. Israel's military operations are also characterized by ground incursions and artillery shelling aimed primarily at the Quneitra and Daraa regions, as well as the establishment of checkpoints that raise further tensions among the local population.
