Epameinondas Atsaves is the new director of OPEKA
Epameinondas Atsaves has taken over as the new head of the Greek Organization for Welfare Benefits and Social Solidarity (OPEKA).
Epameinondas Atsaves has officially assumed the role of director at the Greek Organization for Welfare Benefits and Social Solidarity (OPEKA) as of today, following the completion of the selection process for the leadership of public sector entities. This process was conducted under the relevant announcement by the ASEP (Supreme Council for Civil Personnel Selection) as stipulated by law. The appointment is part of broader efforts to ensure competent leadership in public welfare organizations in Greece.
In a welcoming statement, the Minister for Social Cohesion and Family, Domna Michailidou, praised Atsaves's extensive experience in managing large social security organizations. She highlighted his proven track record in implementing citizen-focused reforms, viewing these attributes as essential for OPEKA's future direction. Additionally, she expressed gratitude to the outgoing director, Efthemia (Fai) Karpodini, acknowledging her contributions to the organization during her tenure.
Epameinondas Atsaves, born and raised in Sparta, is a seasoned lawyer registered with the Athens Bar Association since 2003. His educational background and professional experience are expected to contribute significantly to the objectives of OPEKA, an organization tasked with administering welfare benefits and enhancing social support for citizens. His leadership comes at a critical time for public welfare initiatives in Greece, aimed at improving the quality of life for various demographic groups, including vulnerable populations.
