The CIS of Tezanos Expands PSOE's Lead Over PP to 10.7 Points

The latest CIS poll shows the PSOE increasing its lead over the PP to 10.7 points, while Vox is also gaining ground, nearly reaching 19% in voter intention.

The recent poll released by José Félix Tezanos on behalf of the CIS indicates that the Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) is increasing its electoral advantage over the People's Party (PP) to 10.7 percentage points. This improvement represents a two-point increase from the previous barometer released in January. The poll estimates that the PSOE will receive 32.6% of the votes, which is up by 0.9 points from last month, while the PP is predicted to receive 22.9%, reflecting a slight decline of 0.1 points.

In contrast, the far-right party Vox is experiencing significant growth in voter intention, now estimated at 18.9%, an increase of 1.2 points in just one month. This surge brings Vox dangerously close to the PP, just four points behind. Additionally, the poll indicates a rising support for the party named Se Acabó la Fiesta (SALF), which is now projected to receive 2.4% of the votes, up by 0.6 points from last month. These results suggest a potential consolidation of right-wing parties in the upcoming elections, particularly as the combined support for PP and Vox climbs to 41.8% of hypothetical votes.

The implications of these polling results are significant for Spain's political landscape, highlighting a growing polarization where the PSOE appears to be solidifying its position while the right-wing parties vie for a greater share of the electorate. This dynamic is likely to influence campaign strategies and voter outreach efforts leading up to the next election, as both sides will have to grapple with the shifting allegiances among voters and the possible rise of ultra-nationalist sentiments.
