Akhilesh Fumes Over SIR, Mocks the Water Tank Collapse in Mahoba

Akhilesh Yadav, leader of the Samajwadi Party, accused the BJP of removing names from voter lists during a press conference in Lucknow, while mocking the collapse of a water tank in Mahoba.

Akhilesh Yadav, the national president of the Samajwadi Party (SP), held a press conference in Lucknow where he levelled serious allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claiming they are involved in fraudulent practices to remove voters' names from the electoral rolls. He cited several districts, including Babaganj and Auraiya, stating that unknown individuals are reportedly filling out Form-7 with fake signatures to delete names from the lists. The SP claims that names of prominent party members including their city president, the wife of a Bulandshahr MLA, and local activists in Ayodhya have all been removed without due process.

In addition, Akhilesh used social media to comment on the recent collapse of a water tank in Mahoba, stating that the BJP's corruption has manifested itself in the physical structure of the water supply systems. He sarcastically remarked that the tank could not withstand the 'burden of BJP's corruption', criticizing the party for making public funds disappear where they should be providing essential services. He emphasized that instead of a concrete water supply, the BJP's governance only results in financial misappropriation, dubbing the supposed 'Water Mission' as a 'Commission Mission'.

Akhilesh's accusations extend to specific instances of form manipulation, claiming that in the Babaganj assembly, a person named Ramdev had used fake signatures to facilitate the removal of voter names. He alleged that over a thousand Form-7s have been fraudulently filled out, underscoring the SP's broader concerns regarding electoral integrity and the BJP's tactics to undermine their political base, especially in areas where the SP has significant support. This situation points to ongoing tensions in the lead-up to upcoming elections, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding voter rights and maintaining democratic processes in the face of political maneuvering.
