On February 13 and 14, the 'Career Days' organized by the Public Employment Service (DYP) took place in Thessaloniki, witnessing particularly high participation from both businesses and citizens. A total of 150 companies were involved, presenting over 4,000 job opportunities across a wide range of specialties. More than 6,500 citizens attended the event, engaging in initial interviews with company representatives, demonstrating strong interest in employment opportunities.
During the event, 6,608 CVs were reviewed, leading to 1,229 candidates being shortlisted for the next stage of selection, receiving invitations for second interviews. The data released by DYP highlights the steady momentum of this initiative and the robust interest in the job market. The 'Career Days' serve as a vital tool for directly connecting job supply and demand, effectively reducing matching time and enhancing the efficacy of employment policies.
DYP's director, Gianna Hormova, remarked on the event's significance, emphasizing its role in fostering immediate connections between job seekers and employers. As a result of the successful turnout, the 'Career Days' not only address the immediate hiring needs of businesses but also provide an important platform for citizens seeking employment in the current job market, indicating a proactive approach towards improving employment outcomes in the region.
