It has been revealed which city left the 'Great Choir Battle'
Choruses across Lithuania showcased their talents in a celebration for the country's Independence Day, with multiple choirs receiving top scores for their outstanding performances.
In preparation for the celebration of Lithuania's Independence Restoration Day, choirs throughout the country performed flawlessly during a gala event. The general audience was delighted by the stunning representation of contemporary Lithuania, where diverse performances conveyed a unified expression of freedom through various musical genres. The emotional display moved not only the packed audience but also several soloists who participated in the event.
During the evening, the Generals' committee awarded the highest scores, a perfect 30 points, to five distinguished choirs: the Kaunas 'Rubininis' choir under the direction of Martynas Kavaliauskas, the Klaipėda 'Mėlynasis' choir featuring Liepa, the Panevėžys 'Purpurinis' choir led by Justas Pečeliūnas, the Marijampolė 'Rožinis' choir with Paulina Paukštaityte, and the Alytus 'Žaliasis' choir, whose captain Darius Mileris-Nojus travels from Ireland to participate in this event every other weekend.
The Shiauliai 'Geltonasis' choir, led by Jurgis Brūzga, received 28 points from the Generals' committee, while the Kėdainiai 'Oranžinis' choir ranked relatively lower. This competitive showcase reflects a coming together of various communities in Lithuania, celebrating both cultural heritage and modern expressions of national pride amidst the backdrop of independence.
