Jeličić on Our Hajduk: I would ask that team to leave us their ideologies
Football commentator Joško Jeličić has criticized the management of Hajduk following their victory over Osijek, particularly calling out the association Naš Hajduk for its influence on the club.
In a recent episode of Studio SuperSport HNL aired on MAXSport, football commentator Joško Jeličić delivered sharp criticism regarding the management of the Croatian football club Hajduk Split after their victory against Osijek with a score of 2-0. He specifically targeted the supporters’ association Naš Hajduk, which he claims has been a consistent presence within the club for the past 15 years, alongside the majority owner, the City of Split. Jeličić expressed his desire for this association to refrain from imposing its ideologies on the club’s management, arguing that they have not effectively chosen individuals to create a sustainable strategy and accountability in leading the club.
Jeličić's analysis also touched upon recent changes in the club's administration, such as the dismissal of sports director Goran Vučević, suggesting that Vučević was rapidly rendered ineffective. He further criticized the club's president, Ivan Bilić, for lacking the personal attributes and charisma expected from someone in such a pivotal leadership role. Jeličić emphasized that Hajduk has seen numerous changes in coaches and sports directors over the past 15 years, yet these alterations have occurred without a clear strategic vision for the club's future.
His critiques come during a time when the club needs unity and strong leadership to enhance its performance on the pitch. By calling into question the effectiveness of current management and the influence of Naš Hajduk, Jeličić is advocating for a shift towards a more focused and ideologically neutral approach to governance, which he believes is essential for the long-term success of Hajduk.
