Fresh snowfall and icy conditions have caused significant disruptions to traffic on Bavaria's roads as the workweek begins. In the Upper Palatinate region, several trucks were reported to have accidents in the morning due to the weather conditions, leading to the closure of the A3 highway near Neumarkt heading toward Regensburg, as well as traffic blockages on the A6 near Sulzbach-Rosenberg and A93 between Regensburg-Süd and Kreuz Regensburg. These incidents resulted in lengthy traffic jams during peak commuting hours.

In another incident on the A8 near Irschenberg, a truck slid down an embankment during the night and spilled approximately 18,000 liters of liquid lime, causing damage estimated at about 150,000 euros. Meanwhile, a snow plow in Oberasbach (Middle Franconia) lost control and crashed into a house, though no injuries were reported in any of the incidents. The police have noted a rise in weather-related accidents across the rest of Bavaria as well, indicating that conditions are hazardous for drivers.

Authorities are advising caution for motorists navigating snowy and slippery conditions. With accidents leading to extensive delays, both emergency services and local police are urging residents to consider alternative travel arrangements or refrain from travel if possible.
