Voice actor Wakana Yamazaki, known for her role as Ran Mouri in the anime 'Detective Conan,' is temporarily halting her activities due to health issues, as announced by her agency.

Wakana Yamazaki, the voice actress renowned for portraying the character Ran Mouri in the long-running anime 'Detective Conan,' has announced a pause in her activities for medical treatment due to health concerns. This information was shared by her agency and the official anime website, which emphasized the importance of prioritizing her health above all else. The agency plans to make further assessments as her recovery progresses, ensuring that her well-being is the foremost consideration in her return to work.

In the interim, voice actress Akemi Okamura, well-known for her role as Nami in 'ONE PIECE,' will step in as a substitute for Yamazaki during her recovery period. The transition for the television series will begin with the episode airing on March 14, and although Yamazaki is stepping back temporarily, she has already completed her recordings for the upcoming film 'Detective Conan: The Dark Angel of the Highway,' scheduled for release in April of this year, and will still be featured in that project.

Reflecting on her long tenure with the series, which celebrated its 30th anniversary this year, Yamazaki previously conveyed her thoughts on wanting to return to the '初心' (beginner's spirit) in her work. During an interview with Asahi Shimbun in November, she expressed desire to reconsider her approach and reinvigorate her performance as she continued her role in this beloved franchise, underscoring her dedication to her character and the series overall.
