Five individuals believed to be involved in a deadly shooting in Santa Rita, Greater João Pessoa, were apprehended by military police on Sunday afternoon. The attack occurred early Sunday morning, resulting in three fatalities and six additional injuries. Investigators report that approximately 20 suspects participated in the attack, using various rifles, and cite gang rivalry as the motive behind this violent incident.

The arrests were part of an operation led by the Commander General of the Military Police, Colonel Sérgio Fonseca, in the city of Bayeux, where the suspects were located. During the operation, police seized two firearms, a replica gun, and illegal drugs from the suspects. In a disturbing twist, it was discovered that the suspects were attempting to burn documents belonging to one of the victims while also in possession of mobile phones belonging to the wounded.
