In a tragic incident in Catuji, Minas Gerais, a man identified as Pedro Victor Luiz dos Santos took the lives of his ex-girlfriend, Karolyne dos Santos Batista, 24, and her current partner, Edmar Mota Soares, 34. This shocking act was reportedly spurred by Pedro's inability to accept the end of his relationship with Karolyne. The crime occurred early Sunday morning, where after checking into an inn, the victims were confronted by Pedro, armed and demanding access to their room.

Eyewitness reports from the reception staff revealed that Pedro first threatened the hotel receptionist to gain access to the second floor, forcing the staff to accompany him to the victims' room. Following the assault, Pedro shot multiple times at the couple, demonstrating the brutal nature of the crime. After the shooting, he returned to the reception area, disposed of the spent cartridges, and reloaded his weapon before ultimately taking his own life in the inn.
