Israel: Iran must not have enriched uranium

Israeli Prime Minister B. Netanyahu declared that any agreement with Iran must include the removal of all enriched uranium and dismantling of their capability to enrich further during a speech in Jerusalem.

During a speech in Jerusalem, Israeli Prime Minister B. Netanyahu outlined critical conditions for any potential agreement with Iran regarding its nuclear program. He emphasized that all enriched uranium must be removed from Iran and insisted on the dismantling of any infrastructure that allows enrichment. This statement comes at a time when Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, is headed to Switzerland for the second round of negotiations with the US over Iran's nuclear ambitions.

Netanyahu highlighted that these points are non-negotiable, and he raised similar concerns during his discussions with US President Donald Trump earlier in February. His conditions also included addressing Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities, underscoring Israel's security concerns in the context of the ongoing negotiations. The Prime Minister's comments reflect Israel's longstanding apprehensions regarding Iran’s nuclear potential and its implications for regional stability.

The Israeli government's firm stance on these conditions signals a possible friction with the US and other negotiating parties. As the negotiations progress, Netanyahu’s assertions serve to remind both Iran and international stakeholders that Israel will closely monitor and react to any developments that could threaten its security. This ongoing dialogue in Switzerland could impact future Middle Eastern geopolitics, especially concerning nuclear non-proliferation efforts.
