Jutta Leerdam, a Dutch speedskater and fiancée of boxer Jake Paul, achieved significant success at the 2026 Winter Olympics by winning a silver medal in the women's 500-meter event. Competing fiercely, Leerdam finished with a time of 37.15 seconds, placing her second to fellow Dutch athlete Femke Kok, who set a new Olympic record with a time of 36.49 seconds. This race highlighted the fierce competition within the Dutch team, which continues to excel in speedskating events.
Leerdam's performance marks her first Olympic medal in this discipline, adding to her previous accolades from the World Championships, where she had also finished second in the same event the previous year. The podium was rounded out by Japan’s Miho Takagi, who claimed the bronze with a time of 37.27 seconds. Notably, American skaters were unable to secure a podium position, with 2022 Beijing gold medalist Erin Jackson finishing fifth with a time of 37.32 seconds, reflecting a particularly challenging competition for the U.S. team.

Leerdam's achievement not only highlights her personal dedication and talent but also represents a significant moment for Dutch speedskating, further establishing the country’s dominance in the sport at the Olympic level.
