The toxin produced by Bacillus cereus can lead to severe gastrointestinal distress, including watery diarrhea, and can result in dehydration and mineral imbalances, which are dangerous for infants. Toxicologist Jaroslav Zikmund from Prague's Bulovka Hospital explained the gravity of the situation, noting that the bacteria cannot be killed even through boiling, which compounds the risk. The medical community is calling for stricter monitoring to prevent similar incidents in the future, indicating that timely interventions are crucial as soon as any toxins are detected.
