However, this blessing is not automatic or mechanical; it must be accepted repeatedly, in humility and joyful trust that God is present with all His creations and does not exclude anyone based on faith, race, or relational orientation.

The phrase "What God has joined together, let no one separate" is not a magical incantation, as separations and divorces also occur among those who have received blessings in church, whereas loving relationships can flourish even in the absence of such blessings.
