Police raid cult hideout, arrest three in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested three suspected members of a cult and recovered weapons and hard drugs during a raid in Akure.

The Ondo State Police Command conducted a raid on a suspected cultism hot spot in Akure, leading to the arrest of three individuals believed to be affiliated with the Supreme Eiye Confraternity. The operation, which took place on February 10, was executed by a team from the command's Tactical Intelligence Response Squad after receiving credible intelligence about ongoing cult activities in the area. Spokesperson DSP Abayomi Jimoh emphasized that this action is part of the force's proactive policing strategy aimed at combating cult-related violence and criminal activities in the state.

During the raid, the police successfully detained Damilola, also known as '2Gbaski', aged 34, Uthman at 29, and Akinwale, whose exact age was not disclosed. In addition to the arrests, officers recovered a range of items including an axe and various hard drugs, underscoring the serious nature of the cult's operations.
