Bolsonaro supporter sends parliamentary amendment for women's prison with detainees from January 8
A Brazilian state deputy allocated R$ 500,000 for improvements at a womenβs prison after visiting detainees involved in the January 8 attacks.
After visiting women imprisoned for their involvement in the January 8 attacks in Brazil, state deputy Gil Diniz (PL-SP) allocated R$ 500,000 in parliamentary amendments to improve the conditions at the Women's Penitentiary of Santana in SΓ£o Paulo. During his visits to six detention facilities, Diniz was struck by the dilapidated state of the prisons and the harsh conditions faced by the detainees. He reported that many women are imprisoned under dire circumstances, including poor hygiene in their cells and the distressing fact that mothers are allowed to keep their infants only until six months, after which they face heavy scrutiny just to nurse their children.
