In a worrying incident in central Stockholm, three individuals fell through the ice while a large number of people were on the frozen surface. According to Marie Nordahl from the emergency services, it is highly crowded on the ice, where hundreds of people have been reported walking.

Emergency responders were alerted to the situation around lunchtime on Sunday. Fortunately, the three people who fell through received immediate assistance from passersby who helped them out of the water. They were then examined on-site by an ambulance team, but no serious injuries were reported. The incident occured at Norr Mälarstrand, where a broken ice channel had led to open water, posing an added danger for those on the ice.

Marie Nordahl has warned the public to be cautious, advising against getting too close to areas with visible cracks or open water on the ice.
