Norwegian skier Johannes Hösflot Klaebo made history by winning his ninth gold medal at the Winter Olympics, while the Czech relay team finished in seventh place.

Johannes Hösflot Klaebo, the Norwegian cross-country skier, has achieved a remarkable milestone by winning his ninth gold medal at the Winter Olympics, becoming the first athlete ever to do so. The 29-year-old skier successfully led his relay team to victory in the 4x7.5 km event, securing his place in Olympic history by surpassing the previous record held by fellow Norwegians Marit Björgen and Bjorn Dählie, as well as biathlete Ole Einar Bjørndalen, all of whom had eight gold medals.

In the same event, the Czech relay team, consisting of Jiří Tuž, Michal Novák, Matyáš Bauer, and Mike Ophoff, finished in seventh place, trailing the winners by nearly two minutes. The Czechs managed to secure a position among the top ten, having outpaced teams from Germany, Switzerland, and Sweden. The relay race saw Klaebo take the baton from teammate Einar Hedegaard with a 12-second lead, which he extended as the race progressed, demonstrating his dominance in the sport.

With his historic win, Klaebo continues to be a significant figure in the Winter Olympics, as he prepares for upcoming events, including the sprint duo and the concluding 50 km classic marathon. His performance at last year's World Championships, where he won all six races, has set high expectations for his future competitions and showcased his unparalleled skill and consistency in cross-country skiing.
