After the scandal regarding voting rule violations during the Eurovision selection - LRT's reaction

LRT responded to discrepancies in voting during the Eurovision selection, assuring that all votes are audited and any irregularities are eliminated.

On February 14, during the Eurovision selection, eight participants competed for a chance to reach the finals, including Patricija Luščynska, Selene Ice, Lion Ceccah, Freya Alley, Emi Acidic, the group "More", Nøra Blu, and the group "SHWR". Towards the end of the selection process, inaccuracies in the vote counting led to an unexpected commercial break. In response to these issues, LRT provided a statement explaining the situation and the steps taken to ensure fairness in the voting process. LRT clarified that all Eurovision votes are monitored by the international audit company Grand Thornton Baltic. Upon noticing irregularities in the voting, a recount of the votes was initiated to eliminate any votes that appeared to be obtained unfairly. Augustė Mikulėnaitė, head of LRT's public relations department, mentioned that the recount process took additional time but was crucial in ensuring that any suspicious votes were excluded from the final results. Following the announcement of the votes, it was confirmed that Lion Ceccah and the group "SHWR" will advance to the grand final, scheduled for February 27. This situation highlights the importance of integrity in competitive events like Eurovision, and LRT's commitment to transparency in the voting process was evident in their swift response to the controversy.
