Police unveil two new divisions in Kogi community

The Nigeria Police Force has launched two new police divisions in the Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State to enhance security and improve grassroots policing.

The Nigeria Police Force has recently commissioned two new police divisions in Poyan and Ejuku communities located within the Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State. This initiative aims to bolster the security framework in the region, addressing the increasing need for local law enforcement presence. According to the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, this expansion is seen as part of a broader strategy to strengthen security operations throughout the state.

The commissioning ceremony took place on Sunday, with the Chairman of Yagba East Local Government Area officiating the event on behalf of Kogi State's Executive Governor. The presence of senior law enforcement officials, including the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Kankarofi, highlights the importance placed on enhancing grassroots policing through local administrative support.

By establishing new police divisions in rural communities, the Nigeria Police Force is not only expanding its operational coverage, but also improving its rapid response capabilities to better address crime and security incidents. This move is expected to foster a greater sense of security among residents in Poyan and Ejuku, thereby strengthening community trust and cooperation with law enforcement.
