Federica Brignone of Italy has emerged as the fastest skier after the first run of the women’s giant slalom at the Winter Olympics being held in Cortina d’Ampezzo, clocking a time of 1:03.23. Following her in the standings is Germany's Lena Duerr, who trails by 34 hundredths of a second, while fellow Italian Sofia Goggia sits in third, 46 hundredths of a second behind Brignone’s time.
