Gaza's Civil Defense: Eleven Killed in Israeli Attacks on Sunday

At least eleven people have been killed in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, according to the Gaza Civil Defense.

Since sunrise on Sunday, at least eleven individuals have lost their lives due to Israeli airstrikes targeting areas in Gaza, as reported by the region's Civil Defense. One of the attacks occurred in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, striking a tent housing internally displaced persons, while another assault took place in the south. The Gaza Civil Defense operates under Hamas' governance and serves as an emergency response service in the territory.

The Israeli military, as reported by a Reuters source, stated that these strikes were a response to a purported violation of the ceasefire agreement by Hamas, after several individuals emerged from an underground tunnel situated east of the so-called 'yellow line'. This line demarcates areas controlled by Israel and those governed by Hamas, in accordance with peace accords. Both Israel and Hamas have consistently accused each other of violating the ceasefire, escalating tensions in the region.

Moreover, according to the Gaza Health Department, over 600 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli operations since the ceasefire was established. In contrast, Israeli reports indicate that four soldiers have died in the same timeframe. This stark disparity in casualties highlights the ongoing conflict's humanitarian toll and emphasizes the fragility of the ceasefire, as calls for peace remain amid rising hostilities.
