A car fire in a garage in the Přerov region spread to surrounding structures, causing significant damage but no injuries.
In the Přerov region of Czechia, firefighters responded to a garage fire involving a car that was fully engulfed in flames by the time they arrived. The fire extended to connected structures, including a shelter and the garage roof, as well as impacting surrounding property such as a fence, gas connection, electrical distribution box, and low-voltage power lines. Emergency response included professional and volunteer firefighters from multiple nearby towns, demonstrating a coordinated effort in handling the incident.
Firefighters undertook significant measures to control the fire, including dismantling parts of the garage's roof to search for hidden hotspots. Once these areas were secured, they covered the garage with tarpaulins to prevent further damage and ensure safety. During their operation, firefighters also removed a gas cylinder from an adjoining technical room as a precautionary measure to mitigate explosion risks associated with the fire and gas connection.
