Stabbing in Lillestrøm Closed Case
The police have closed the case regarding a minor who was injured in a stabbing incident in Lillestrøm, as they were unable to identify the perpetrator.
The police have officially closed the investigation into a stabbing incident that occurred in Lillestrøm, Norway, in April 2025, where a minor was seriously injured. Despite being airlifted to Ullevål Hospital with severe injuries, the assailant has not been identified, leading to the case being shelved. According to police lawyer Silje Haugerstuen Bergsholm, investigators were unable to find any substantial evidence to pinpoint the person responsible for the attack.
The stabbing took place at a bus terminal on a Tuesday afternoon, and although several steps were taken by the police, including interviewing the victim, gathering telecommunication data from the area, and reviewing surveillance footage, the investigation yielded minimal results. Four witnesses were also questioned, but none had witnessed the actual stabbing, which further complicated the case. The lack of leads has prompted the closure of the investigation, disappointing many involved.
The victim's lawyer, Mohamed Hamzaoui, expressed his concern and disappointment over the case being closed, indicating that it is unfortunate given the willingness of his client to cooperate. The belief is that substantial information could have emerged had the investigation continued. The case highlights ongoing challenges facing law enforcement in identifying suspects in violent incidents and the impact this has on victims seeking justice in their communities.
