Member of the old guard of Camisa Verde e Branco falls ill and is taken by ambulance
A member of the Camisa Verde e Branco samba school's old guard fell ill during the carnival parade in Brazil and required medical attention.
During the second night of parades at the Sambódromo do Anhembi in Brazil, a member of the old guard of the Camisa Verde e Branco samba school collapsed and was attended to by medical professionals. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, the 15th, as the school prepared to perform its samba-enredo titled 'Abre Caminhos,' which celebrates various expressions of Exu, the orixá associated with crossroads and communication.
Reports indicate that the elderly woman, who is known to have diabetes, fainted while on a float around 4:30 AM. It seems that her failure to eat adequately may have contributed to her condition. A staff member from Liga-SP confirmed the situation, ensuring that she received immediate medical attention at the scene.
She was transported by ambulance for further medical evaluation, and if necessary, she would be referred to an emergency care facility. This incident highlights the health risks that can occur during high-energy events like the Carnival, particularly for elderly participants who may have pre-existing health conditions.
