In a competitive display at the women's hockey tournament during the Milan and Cortina Olympic Games, the quarter-finals have concluded, resulting in Canada, Switzerland, the USA, and Sweden qualifying for the semi-finals. Canada showcased a dominant performance against Germany, winning 5-1, with key contributions from goalscorers Brianna Jenner, Claire Thompson, Sara Filjé, Blair Turnbull, and Marie-Philip Poulin. Germany’s sole goal came from Franziska Feldmeier, marking a challenging outing for the team.
Switzerland edged past Finland with a narrow 1-0 victory, where Alina Müller scored the decisive goal in the 35th minute. This win highlights Switzerland’s defensive capabilities, as they maintained a clean sheet under pressure. Similarly, Sweden played strongly against the Czech Republic, sealing a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Hanna Ulsson and Hilda Svensson, with goalie Eba Svensson-Trefa making a remarkable 29 saves throughout the match.
