Duo arrested with 403 grams of drugs during an operation by the 2nd BME in Urumari

Two men were arrested for drug trafficking in the Urumari neighborhood of Santarém, Brazil, on Friday evening.

The operation took place around 8:20 PM, near the end of a cul-de-sac known for drug sales. When police intensified their patrols in the area, the suspects attempted to flee upon seeing a police vehicle but were quickly caught by the authorities.

Upon searching one of the apprehended individuals, who was carrying a green shoulder bag, police discovered seven small bags of a substance resembling crack cocaine, a larger quantity of the same drug, a cell phone, and several pieces of jewelry including a pair of earrings and a bracelet. Additionally, the suspect was found with a precision scale that fell during the flight attempt. Meanwhile, the second suspect had 29 packets of the same narcotic in his possession.

This operation underscores the ongoing challenges law enforcement faces in combatting drug trafficking in communities like Urumari, which are known hotspots for such criminal activities.
