Young Chucky doll fan murders his father and then stabs his mother

A young man obsessed with the Chucky doll killed his father and seriously injured his mother in a violent incident in Brighton, England.

Fabio Botros, a 20-year-old from Brighton who idolized the horror character Chucky, was sentenced to an indefinite hospital order after committing a horrific crime in April 2025. He was charged with the murder of his 57-year-old father, Emad Samir Botros Farag, and with inflicting serious injuries on his mother and an 11-year-old boy at their home on Hartfield Avenue. This shocking event occurred when emergency services were called to the scene, only to find the father with severe brain injuries, ultimately leading to his death on the premises.

The prosecution revealed that following an emergency call on 1st April 2025, police discovered the chilling aftermath of a violent attack that had taken place within the family's residence. Fabio was initially led to plead guilty to manslaughter as the case unfolded at the Lewes Crown Court, where it became evident that the act stemmed from a significant mental disturbance related to his fixation on the character of Chucky, highlighting potential issues in mental health care and the influence of violent media on young minds.

This case raises alarming questions about the intersection of mental health, media consumption, and violent behavior, emphasizing the need for greater understanding and preventive measures when addressing such incidents. With Fabio now facing a long-term hospital stay, there is a growing conversation about the responsibility of media representations in shaping behaviors and the necessary support systems for individuals prone to such tragic actions.
