It’s hard to compete – leading biathletes pleased with their sprint performance

Latvian biathlon team members express satisfaction with their recent sprint performance, despite challenges faced.

In the latest biathlon sprint event, Latvian biathletes Sanita Buliņa and Baiba Bendika showcased remarkable performances, with Buliņa shooting without errors, achieving one of her career's best results. Despite physical strain evident in the competition, both athletes maintained an optimistic outlook on their performances. Bendika noted that to secure medals in biathlon, shooting accuracy is crucial, which unfortunately eluded her during this race, yet she remains determined for the upcoming events.

Bendika and fellow competitor, the 20-year-old Estere Volfa, secured 15th and 16th places respectively, which are promising starting positions for the next race scheduled for Sunday. They acknowledged the physical intensity of the recent competitions and are aware of the challenges that lie ahead for day two of the events. The competitors expressed their need to recover properly and hinted at difficulty in accessing physiotherapy resources due to high demand.
