'Devoted and beautiful' teacher died after cocaine and drink binge on night out

A young teacher, Emily Rose Browning, tragically died after a night of heavy drinking and cocaine use during an outing with friends.

Emily Rose Browning, a well-liked teacher at Gladstone Primary School in Cardiff, died tragically after consuming significant amounts of alcohol and cocaine during a night out with friends in December 2024. Friends described her as a 'kind, caring, and beautiful young lady.' After returning home from a night out, she was found collapsed in her bedroom by her boyfriend, who called for emergency assistance when he discovered she was not breathing.

An inquest led by Coroner Graeme Hughes revealed that Browning had socialized with friends before heading to a bar in Cardiff city center, where she engaged in excessive drinking and drug use. The grim circumstances of her death highlight the potential dangers and risks associated with recreational substance use, especially in social settings. Reports indicate that she succumbed to choking on her own vomit, leading to her passing at the hospital.
