In a thrilling match, the Latvian ice hockey team claimed their first victory at the Milan Cortina Olympic tournament by overcoming Germany with a score of 4-3. Latvia faced early challenges, falling behind twice in the first period, but managed to equalize and enter the final period at 2-2. He acknowledged that while the team is still developing their play style, they are improving with every game.
Previously, Latvia struggled in their opening match against the USA, suffering a 5-1 defeat. In another Group C match held the same day, Sweden comfortably beat Slovakia 5-1. As the tournament progresses, Latvia's performance will be closely watched, especially as they aim to build momentum and enhance their game strategy against tough competition.
