A public hearing held in Santarém, located in the west of Pará, on Friday (13th), discussed the current status of research regarding the potential demarcation of an indigenous land in the Planalto Santareno. The meeting was attended by federal agencies, indigenous leaders, rural producers, business representatives, and civil society members, and was characterized by a space for listening, varying positions, and anticipation regarding the next steps in the process. The hearing was organized by the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) and the National Foundation of Indigenous Peoples (Funai). The objective was to present the current stage of the technical studies and gather contributions that could be incorporated into the report defining the limits of the area under consideration.
