Arundhati Roy, the acclaimed Indian author, has announced her withdrawal from the Berlin Film Festival where she was scheduled to attend as the screenwriter of the classic film "In which Annie gives it those ones" (1989). This decision comes in light of what Roy describes as "unjust statements" made by several jury members concerning the conflict in Gaza. In a written statement published in the Indian media outlet The Wire, she expressed her discontent with the jury's perceived political stance.
