Ufopa donates equipment for makers' laboratories in schools of Alenquer and Monte Alegre
Ufopa has donated equipment to establish makers' laboratories in schools in Alenquer and Monte Alegre, aiding technological education in the region.
The Federal University of Western Pará (Ufopa) has formally donated equipment for makers' laboratories in schools in Alenquer and Monte Alegre as part of its institutional project, the Program Mais Ciência na Escola (PMCE) – West of Pará. This program aims to enhance collaboration between the university and basic education, providing students and teachers with access to innovative methodologies and technological resources aimed at fostering hands-on learning experiences.
The donation ceremony included the signing of terms and the actual transfer of the equipment to schools in both towns. This initiative is a critical step towards improving educational infrastructure, which is particularly essential in regions like the Amazon, where access to advanced educational tools can significantly enhance learning outcomes. The project emphasizes not only technological education but also integrates cultural and civic aspects to prepare students for sustainable futures.
Future phases of the initiative will involve setting up the makers' laboratories followed by their inauguration. These labs are designed to promote technoscientific education and engage students in creative problem-solving activities, ultimately contributing to their development as informed and responsible citizens. The initiative is expected to have a meaningful impact on the education landscape in these underserved areas of the Amazon.
