18-year-old seriously injured after being attacked by members of a Latin gang in Vallecas

An 18-year-old youth was seriously injured in Madrid after being stabbed in an apparent gang-related attack.

An 18-year-old young man of South American descent was seriously injured in a stabbing incident on Friday night in the Puente de Vallecas district of Madrid. This incident is reportedly linked to ongoing gang violence involving Latin American gangs in the area. According to the victim's statement, he was approached and attacked without provocation by a group of young men belonging to such a gang while walking with a friend.

The attack occurred shortly after 8 PM on Doctor Sánchez Street, where the young man was stabbed in the back, resulting in severe injuries that may affect his lungs. Emergency services, Samur-Protección Civil, rapidly responded to the scene, attending to the victim right at the site of the stabbings. Medical personnel performed emergency procedures to stabilize him, including placing a chest tube, and transported him in critical condition to the Hospital 12 de Octubre, under police escort.

This incident underscores the ongoing issues of violence connected to youth gangs in urban areas of Madrid.
