Prague's firefighters have recently started to receive new vehicles and equipment following an investment of over 200 million crowns, marking a significant collaboration between the city and fire services. Mayor Bohuslav Svoboda emphasized that this investment, while substantial, is crucial for ensuring the safety of the city. The new fleet includes a fire engine, a ladder truck, two specialized carbon dioxide extinguishing vehicles, and a trailer-mounted generator, with seven additional tankers currently under production and expected to be completed in the first half of the year.

The head of Prague's firefighters, Luděk Prudil, highlighted the challenges faced by emergency services in the metropolis, which often arise due to complicated traffic conditions. He noted that the new vehicles are essential for maintaining high operational standards and effectively addressing the demanding tasks encountered in urban settings. The acquisition of this new equipment is expected to greatly assist firefighters in navigating through Prague's often congested streets and complex building layouts.

This modernization initiative comes at a time when urban firefighting requires advanced tools and rapid responses. With the introduction of modern equipment, such as the specialized CO₂ extinguishing vehicles, the Prague fire brigade aims to enhance its emergency response capabilities, thus ensuring better preparedness and safety for residents of the city.
