Don't do this at night – it may pose a risk to your heart

A study has found that nighttime exposure to light increases the risk of various heart diseases.

A recent study utilizing data from the UK Biobank has revealed that individuals who are exposed to light during the night are at a significantly higher risk for various heart-related diseases. The research, which included 89,000 participants with an average age of 62, involved participants wearing light sensors on their wrists for a week. The findings indicate that those who experienced the most night-time light exposure were 32% more likely to develop coronary artery disease, 46% more likely to experience a heart attack, 56% more likely to develop heart failure, and 32% more likely to experience atrial fibrillation compared to those with minimal light exposure over a nearly ten-year follow-up period.
