One million for the banned Ukrainian athlete's helmet

The Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld the disqualification of Ukrainian skeleton athlete Vladyslav Heraskevych for wearing a helmet honoring deceased Ukrainian athletes in violation of Olympic rules.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) confirmed the disqualification of Vladyslav Heraskevych, a Ukrainian skeleton athlete, after he was penalized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for racing with a helmet that bore the names of 24 Ukrainian athletes who died in the ongoing conflict with Russia. This act of remembrance, while supported by many around the world, was deemed a political message, which is prohibited by IOC regulations. Heraskevych's disqualification was announced on Thursday, and although he appealed the decision, the CAS rejected his case.
