In Mexico, the confirmed cases of measles have surged to 9,478, reflecting an increase of 127 cases from the previous day, as stated in the Daily Report on the Measles Outbreak by the General Directorate of Epidemiology of the Health Ministry. The number of deaths attributed to this illness has risen to 29, with a new death reported today, bringing the total to two deaths in the current year—one in Michoacán and another in Tlaxcala.
The report outlines that the confirmed deaths are spread across seven states, with Chihuahua suffering the most with 21 deaths, followed by Jalisco with two, and one each in Sonora, Durango, Michoacán, Tlaxcala, Mexico City, and Chiapas. Notably, in the accumulation period of reported cases from 2025-2026, all 32 states have recorded measles cases across 335 municipalities, highlighting the widespread nature of this outbreak.
Chihuahua stands out with the highest number of confirmed cases, tallying at 4,508, while Jalisco follows with 2,000.
