Russian Forces Attacked Kyiv with Drones Late Friday Evening
Russian troops carried out a drone strike in the Kyiv region of Ukraine on Friday evening, injuring two people.
On Friday evening, Russian forces launched a drone attack in the Kyiv region, targeting the district of Vyshhorod, located on the northern outskirts of Ukraine's capital. Regional governor Mykola Kolesnyk reported that two individuals, a man and a woman, suffered injuries from the strike and were subsequently hospitalized. The injuries included shrapnel wounds to the man's upper limbs, face, and neck, while the woman sustained a broken bone.
The attack resulted in a fire in a residential building nearby, which was extinguished by emergency workers. Governor Kolesnyk condemned the continued terrorization of civilians in the Kyiv region by Russian forces, emphasizing the persistent threat to the local population amidst ongoing conflicts. The extent of the damages caused by the drone strike is currently being assessed by local authorities.
This assault comes as part of a broader pattern of intensified Russian military actions against Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities during the winter months, specifically targeting civilian and energy infrastructure across the capital. As the conflict continues, such attacks raise concerns about the safety and well-being of civilians in the war-affected areas, triggering fears of further escalations in violence and disruption of essential services.
