Man beats partner until she loses consciousness and is arrested on the coast of SP; VIDEO

Clésio Carlos Ramos was arrested for beating his partner to the point of causing her to lose consciousness in São Vicente, São Paulo.

Clésio Carlos Ramos, a 45-year-old man, has been arrested after brutally assaulting his 44-year-old partner in their home in São Vicente, located on the São Paulo coast. The assault, which occurred on February 1st, resulted in the woman losing consciousness and required intervention from neighbors. Although the incident took place weeks prior, the arrest warrant was only executed recently. Both Ramos and his partner had been in a relationship for about 15 years, and prior incidents of domestic violence had been reported against him.

Witnesses reported that the attack included Ramos punching his partner, choking her, pulling her hair, and dragging her around their home. The violence escalated to the point where a neighbor heard the commotion and intervened, finding the victim unconscious. In a desperate attempt to revive her, the neighbor requested salt from Ramos, which he then threw in the victim's face. Upon police arrival, the woman was found with significant injuries, including a cranial trauma and mental confusion, prompting the authorities to act swiftly against the aggressor.

This incident sheds light on the ongoing issue of domestic violence in Brazil, exacerbated by substance abuse issues, as suggested by the victim's daughter who indicated that Ramos had a history of cocaine use. The case serves as a chilling reminder of the dangers faced by individuals in violent domestic situations and the critical need for both support systems and robust law enforcement actions to protect victims and hold offenders accountable.
