Church member under investigation for vulnerable rape in Paraná, and Public Ministry is investigating if there are other victims

Flúvio Cosme Adão is being investigated for the crime of vulnerable rape against six victims in the Greater Curitiba area.

Flúvio Cosme Adão is under investigation by the Public Ministry of Paraná for the crime of vulnerable rape, with allegations involving six victims in the Greater Curitiba area. Authorities are also looking into the possibility of additional victims who have yet to come forward. According to the Public Ministry, Adão held a "regional" position in the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Fazenda Rio Grande, in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba, and he was actively involved in the youth group known as the Explorers Club.

The accusations suggest that Adão exploited his role within the church's youth group to commit his crimes. The prosecutor, Adolfo Vaz da Silva, highlights that due to his position of authority, many victims may not have fully understood what was happening to them, making it difficult for them to report the abuse. His interactions with multiple children's groups within the church further compounded this issue, creating an environment where children felt confused and vulnerable.

Adão has been in preventive detention since October 2025, facing charges of vulnerable rape and related offenses. The ongoing investigation aims to uncover the full extent of the allegations and determine if more victims exist who have not yet come forward, raising concerns over the safety and well-being of children involved in such faith-based groups.
