In Manhumirim, Brazil, a man was shot by police on Friday after threatening individuals and charging at an officer with a machete. According to the Military Police, they were responding to a call from a citizen who reported being threatened by the man, who was described as agitated and armed with the machete while making death threats. Upon arrival, officers found the man wielding the weapon and demanded he drop it.

Despite being ordered to drop the machete, the man refused to comply and lunged at the police officer. In response to this threat, the officer fired a shot that struck the man in the abdomen, causing him to collapse on the scene. The officers subsequently disarmed him, and the Civil Police forensic team was notified to investigate the incident, collecting a .40 caliber shell while also seizing the machete.
